Tottenham Hotspurs has fallen to 15th in the Premier League table following their 2:1 loss against Leicester City on 26th.

With merely 24 points from 23 matches, the team now sits just 8 points above the relegation zone.

Managing zero wins in their last seven Premier League games, manager Ange Postecoglou has come under intense scrutiny.

The 59-year old Australian, who arrived at the club in the summer of 2023, had initially impressed by leading the team through an undefeated run in his first 10 games before eventually finishing 5th in the previous campaign.

This season’s struggles have been particularly evident in their extremely attacking style of play, which, while effective early last season, has now been studied and countered by opposing teams.

The aggressive approach, while resulting in goals, has left the back line vulnerable while producing goals and maintaining a +9 goal difference in 23 league games.

The miserable form is not all to blame on Ange Postecogoglou, as the team had nine first team players injured in the match against Leicester City.

The casualty list includes key defenders Mickey Van de Ven and Cristian Romero, forcing the manager to field unprepared youth players.

The Leicester match epitomized Spurs’ recent fortunes.

Despite Brazilian striker Richarlison opening the scoring in the 36th minute from a Pedro Porro cross, the team capitulated in the second half.

Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannous struck within 5 minutes and condemned Spurs to defeat despite their 61% possession.

On the defeat, Postecoglou spoke to BBC Radio 5, “Where we are in the league is nowhere near good enough. That’s a reflection on me and my coaching, but as I keep saying I am positive about the future for this group of players.”

The fans were clearly frustrated, as chants desiring for change could be heard during the match.

While some were directed towards Postecoglou, the majority expressed anger toward club's chairman Daniel Levy.

The chairman has faced increasing criticism in recent years due to the club's lack of progress, with their only notable achievement being their 2019 run to the Champions League final where they fell short to Liverpool FC.

Coupled with the lack of signings despite the growing injury concerns this season, the fans' frustration reached a boiling point, resulting in loud chants calling for the chairman's departure.

Yet, there are glimmers of hope on the horizon.

Van de Ven and Romero are expected to return in the coming weeks alongside other recovering players.

Furthermore, the club maintains a respectable record in the Europa League, currently sitting 6th and remaining on course for automatic qualification to the next round.

Although recent performances have been underwhelming, fans remain hopeful for improvement, especially with the team still competing in three other tournaments alongside the Premier League.
