The newest issue within social media comes from the launch of a food product by three of the most popular YouTubers; Logan Paul, KSI, and Mr. Beast.

In a collaborative effort, Trio have released their own brand of kid’s lunch product.

The lunch kit, called “Lunchly”, includes a main dish, a Feastables chocolate bar, and a bottle of Prime Hydration.

The latter two products have recently exploded in popularity, largely due to their creators’ fame as content producers.

Lunchly appears to be a direct competitor to the long-established Lunchables brand.

In a statement to CNN, Logan Paul said, “ The school lunch market has been ‘dominated by Lunchables’ since he was a kid and that it’s ‘time to provide a better option for those looking for a convenient, healthier choice.”

This venture could demonstrate that Youtubers can leverage their popularity among younger generations to enter other mainstream industries.

However, Lunchly is not without its concerns.

Prime and Feastables, as well as their creators, have faced major issues in the past.

Logan Paul and KSI have used their large following of children and pre-teens to market Prime drinks to those demographics.

This may be a point of concern as Prime Energy, the line of Prime drinks with high levels of caffeine, is also promoted to many young fans.

Dr. Tracy Zaslow told Healthline, “Pediatricians advise against caffeine for children under 12 and against any use of energy drinks for all children and teens.”

While Lunchly only includes the hydration versions of Prime drinks, these are not without criticism either.

The drinks are promoted by their creators as “healthier” than competitors such as Gatorade for having less sodium and sugar.

However, this claim fails to mention that hydration drinks include higher levels of sodium and sugar to replenish electrolytes.

Dietitian Zenker noted in a statement to Forbes Health, “Prime Hydration provides less sodium (10 milligrams)—an electrolyte that maintains fluid balance—in comparison to other sports drinks.”

Mr. Beast’s contribution, Feastables chocolate bars, has faced less scrutiny in comparison.

Mr. Beast has similarly claimed Feastables to be a healthier alternative to other brands of chocolate bars, but most current evaluations indicate that Feastables offer no major nutritional benefits over competing products.

Another major concern lies with the creators of Lunchly themselves.

Mr. Beast has been facing a series of mounting controversies, such as his longtime collaborator, Kris Tyson, being accused of grooming minors on social media platforms, and allegations of sexist, misogynistic practices in his video productions.

Similarly, KSI has faced accusations of creepy behavior towards women, bordering on sexual harassment.

Meanwhile, Logan Paul has had a tumultuous career following his shocking video where he discovered and mocked a suicide victim in Japan’s “suicide forest.”

The launch of Lunchly comes shortly after Lunchables' initiative to develop new snack kits specifically for the United States national school lunch program.

This move has seen large backlash from health professionals.

A 2024 report from Consumer Reports stated that the nutritional profiles of Lunchables kits have levels of sodium highly exceeding the recommended daily amount for children, making them inappropriate for schools.

The recent social media-driven food products have created an opportunity to re-evaluate brands as a whole.

Both corporations and social media influencers like Mr. Beast, Logan Paul, and KSI use their fervent consumer base and clever branding to sell products with questionable health claims.

Jefferely Klinemen, editor-in-chief of BevNET, told CNN, “Paul is way more appealing to a 13-year-old than a juice box.”
