Shooting at Pennsylvania rally leaves two dead and former President Trump injured

On July 13th, 2024, a shooting occurred at a rally in Pennsylvania featuring former President Donald Trump resulted in Trump being injured, with a bullet grazing his ear.

The attack left two people injured, and two dead, including the shooter.

Among the victims was a firefighter who heroically shielded his family from danger, who sacrificed his life in the process.

According to Fox news, The FBI has shared that the shooting appears to be an assassination attempt, with the shooter identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks from western Pennsylvania.

Cooks reportedly fired several shots from a rooftop near the rally venue.

Crooks was shot to death by Secret Service agents who acted swiftly to protect the public.

The motive of his shooting is yet to be known, though investigators discovered photos of Trump, current President Joe Biden, and other officials among the shooter’s possessions, along with a history of researching the Democratic National Convention.

President Biden addressed the nation, condemning the violence and affirming that such acts will not be tolerated in America.

Meanwhile, Trump announced he would not delay his upcoming trip to Wisconsin and the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, despite the assassination attempt.

In the middle of this confusing moment, the incident left many rally attendees in shock.

One witness described the scene as “chaotic,” noting that a bystander was killed instantly after being shot in the head.

The shooting has drawn reactions from leaders worldwide.

U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned amid criticism over the agency’s handling of the event.

International leaders expressed their concerns and well-wishes for Trump.

The presidents of France, Italy, and the Prime Minister of India conveyed their wishes for a speedy recovery, calling the assassination attempt a tragedy.

Additionally, Christopher Luxon, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, expressed his shock on social media, stating that no country should experience such political violence.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also denounced the shooting, emphasizing that political violence is unacceptable.

The president of Poland echoed these sentiments, highlighting the global impact of the attempted assassination.

This incident, marked by chaos and heroism, will undoubtedly remain a part of history.
