President Joe Biden will raise $7 billion for solar projects on 2024 Earth Day, championing energy sustainability as part of a broader initiative to bolster support for renewable energy in the United States.

Earth Day was initially established in 1970 with the aim of educating about environmental issues.

Over the decades, it has evolved into a global celebration that underscores urgent efforts to protect the environment and highlights the significance of nature around people.

The federal grants, managed by the Environmental Protection Agency, primarily target a reduction of carbon emissions by the equivalent of 30 million tons while targeting over 900,000 households to utilize clean energy efficiently.

Through this program, President Biden aims to distribute 60 grants across the state to give free opportunities for a more sustainable country.

This mainly targets low and middle-income households, projecting annual savings of up to $350 million annually.

Using renewable energy not only enhances public health and reduces carbon emissions but also provides an alternative source of limited resources for the Earth.

Part of the $27 billion Green Bank, the grants constitute a climate law to foster a substantial reduction in climate and air pollution.

Moreover, increased support for renewable energy holds promise for addressing unemployment problems.

It is predicted that more than 200,000 jobs are expected to be created through the funded solar projects, facilitating both environmental and economic growth.

The President further announced the $7 billion in grants to make distributed residential solar power accessible to disadvantaged communities in the nation, as he previously envisioned that more than 40% of the climate benefits would flow to the underprivileged community.

Further emphasizing his commitment to environmental sustainability, Biden also underscored the expansion of the American Climate Corps.

The project not only aims to employ over 20,000 young Americans in clean energy and climate-associated jobs but also equip them with the necessary skills for the future environment.

Moreover, young generations can be provided with the opportunity to engage in meaningful work and, most importantly, to prepare for the future.

The project further aims to protect over 40 million acres of land and water and implement new regulations to ensure maximum protection of significant resources.
