Marvel has launched the first trailer of its newest addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Fantastic Four: First Steps,” on February 4th.
The film, directed by Matt Sharkman, chronicles the origin story of Marvel’s premier superhero team.
The story follows four individuals who venture into unknown space: Reed Richards(Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing).
Inspired by the 1960s, the film embraces a distinctive Retro-Futurism style, blending nostalgic elements with futuristic designs.
The trailer opens at the team’s headquarters, the Baxter Building, where Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards and Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm welcome viewers.
In a heartwarming scene, the team gathers every Sunday at 7 p.m for dinner, portraying an unconventional family dynamic.
Ebon Moss-Bachrach’s Ben Grimm and H.E.R.B.I.E, the robot, share cooking duties in what appears to be a close-knit household.
A pivotal moment arrives with the voice of Reed Richards: "Before you first went into space, you were not an invisible human being, and Ben was not a rock."
The trailer then illustrates the team’s transformations - Sue Storm fading into invisibility, Johnny Storm erupting in flames, and Ben Grimm metamorphosing into living rock.
The cast brings together acclaimed actors from various successful productions.
Pedro Pascal, who has shown bold performances in a variety of media, including "Game of Thrones," "The Mandalorian," "The Great Wall,"and "Wonder Woman 1984," leads as Reed Richards.
Vanessa Kirby, recognized for her good acting skills in the movie "Mission Impossible" series and the drama "The Crown," has been selected for the role of Sue Storm, Invisible Woman.
Joseph Quinn of "Game of Thrones" will play Johnny Storm, Human Torch and Ebon Moss-Bachrach of "The Bear" series will show explosive acting synergy as Ben Grimm ,The Thing.
The creative team includes director Matt Shakman and screenwriter Peter Cameron, both known for their work on who directed the well-made Disney+ drama series "WandaVision”.
The most impressive scene in the trailer is the silhouette of Galactus.
Galactus is a villain character who eats planets as his meal.
He is not an evil character who wants to dominate the world.
He is just hungry and a universal character.
But Marvel heroes consider him as a villain because he has been trying to eat the Earth.
Also in this movie, Galactus will appear in the Earth to eat the Earth.
As part of the promotional campaign, Marvel Rivals, the hot TPS shooting game with Marvel IP, has introduced playable versions of all four team members: Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and The Thing.
Actually, Fantastic Four’s movies were made in 2004 and 2015.
Chris Evans who is well known as the actor of Captain America played Human Torch in Fantastic Four 2004.
But those Fantastic Four movies couldn’t earn positive reaction from the fans so this time, Marvel seems to be making this new Fantastic Four movie with their maximum effort.
The subtitle of the new Fantastic Four, “First Steps” also involves reboot of Fantastic Four movie.
“Fantastic Four: First Steps” is scheduled for theatrical release on July 25, 2025.
