The hottest drama series of Amazon Prime Video, “The Boys” ended its story with the latest season, “The Boys: Season 5” and sparked controversy among fans due to the unexpected deaths of the strongest superhero and final boss, Homelander.

The series finale sparked intense debate on community websites like Reddit because some believed that it realistically portrayed the consequences of power and corruption, while others were disappointed with the fate of a certain character and an unresolved conflict.

Despite Homelander’s anticlimactic death becoming a point of contention among the fans who were hoping for a better ending, “The Boys” is remembered as one of the most unique superhero series, as it challenges traditional images of heroes and reveals the dark sides of power, fame, and human nature.

In the original comics, the leader of The Boys and who desperately wants to eliminate all the heroes, Butcher kills his teammates after he killed Homelander.

In the drama series, after Butcher killed the powerless Homelander, Butcher died with Hughie’s hand while Hughie stopped Butcher trying to kill all of the superheroes with the virus. 

Butcher’s death was part of his plan because he wanted to die by his friend’s hand. 

After his death, The Boys members held a small funeral for Butcher and found a new life.

So some people say the drama series' ending is their best besides the worst ending of the original comics.

“The Boys” series is based on the US comics series of the same name, which is a mature superhero comic series that twists the clichés of traditional superhero comics and portrays a dark reality filled with absurdity, satire, and black comedy.

The first series of Amazon Prime Video’s drama series, based on the comics, “The Boys,” was released in 2019 and it shocked superhero genre fans with its cruel scenes and absurdity.

“The Boys” is the title of a series and the name of a secret group who fight against the superheroes.

In this series, superheroes are not the responsible and heroic figures we typically see.

Although they appear perfect and protectors of the citizens, they actually use their superpowerss for their own desires.

The most popular and powerful hero in the series is Homelander.

Homelander has similar appearance and superpower to Superman but his characteristics are totally different.

Homelander is the main villain in the series who has the strongest power and uses his powers to make people obey him.

The series’ storyline centers around the team The Boys trying to stop Homelander’s dictation.

The final season intensified this conflict, bringing the long-standing rivalry between Homelander and The Boys to a violent climax.

As Homelander became more unhinged and obsessed with absolute control, the world around him became confused as well.

Meanwhile, The Boys members struggled with fear, sacrifice, and their moral limits while trying to stop him.

Although “The Boys” has ended, Amazon Prime Video is continuing to expand the franchise through new spin-off series.

Homelander’s biological father and hero of the previous generation, Soldier Boy, is going to be featured in a new prequel series.

Following the series’ conclusion, Amazon Prime Video released the trailer of “The Boys”’s prequel series, “Vought Rising”.

Vought Rising is a highly anticipated 1950s-set prequel to The Boys, scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video in 2027.

The series follows a young Soldier Boy and Clara Vought as they navigate a gritty, noir-style murder mystery during the early, twisted days of the hero management company Vought.

As the last prequel series of “The Boys,” “Gen V” shows a story in the US’s one and only superhero university, and it was highly related with “The Boys” series, the fans are expecting the next prequel series.
