Bad Bunny, real name being Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, a singer born in Puerto-Rico was the first artist to headline a halftime show performed entirely in Spanish, building on earlier  Latin-performance by Shakira and JLO.

The Super Bowl LX took place on February 8th, 2026,  featuring a matchup between Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.

The Super Bowl is the championship game of the National Football League (NFL), played by the winners of  the League’s American Football Conference and National Football Conference.

When the Super Bowl first debuted, the University of Arizona Symphonic Marching band performed “The Sound of Music” and “When the Saints Go Marching In”.

Audiences started to shift their ideas about halftime shows when Michael Jackson headlined the halftime show in 1993.

Jackson was invited to boost the halftime viewership.

Jackson’s superstar status  drew audiences, being successful in transforming the Super Bowl to not only an offering of live music and entertainment for football fans but an honor for the artists invited to perform.

Now,  audiences tune in not only  for the game, but  to see the biggest pop star in the world  perform at the biggest game in America.

On September 28, 2025, Bad Bunny was officially announced to headline  the Super Bowl LX halftime show.

He had previously appeared as a special guest in 2020 during the Super Bowl LIV halftime  show, headlined by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

Bad Bunny first made his musical debut on Soundcloud, with “Diles”, which started to gain recognition, soon after he first signed with Hear This Music after DJ Luian discovered his song.

His singles continued to succeed when he was nominated for a Grammy with the song “I Like  it,” recorded with rapper Cardi B and reggaeton star J Balvin.

Bad Bunny continued to climb with his debut album “X 100PRE” reaching No.1 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart and receiving  a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Music Album.

Bad Bunny continued his ascent, making history this February as the first Spanish-Language album to win Album of the Year in the Grammys.

According to a statement released by the NFL, after Bad Bunny was announced to perform at the Super Bowl he said, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture, and our history.”

Bad Bunny opened his Super Bowl halftime performance with “Titi me Preguntó”, with a Puerto-Rico inspired set, mimicking a typical barrio in the country.

There were a lot of musical factors, including the live orchestra on stage, even with a conductor playing “DTMF”.

Special appearances were spotted, Lady Gaga, performing a salsa version of “Die With a Smile.” and Ricky Martin, performing an acoustic rendition of “Lo Que Le Pasó a Hawaii”.

The show ended with the playing of “Café con Ron,” with performers coming out with the flags of all the sovereign Latin countries creating an emotional and powerful scene.

The only English words Bad Bunny uttered was, “God bless America”.

Currently, Bad Bunny is touring for his “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” world tour, which started on November 21,2025 in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic, and is scheduled to conclude on July 22, 2026, in Brussels, Belgium.
