Season 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s drama series, “DareDevil: Born Again” recently premiered on Disney+ on March 26th, 2026.
The original Daredevil series was a Netflix staple, but Marvel Studios has successfully transitioned the character to their own platform with this new iteration.
Matt Murdock is a blind lawyer in New York City by day, but by night, he transforms into a masked hero protecting the city from crime.
Having lost his vision in a childhood chemical accident, Murdock gained superhuman senses that compensate for his blindness.
He is the master of hand-to-hand combat and is famously associated with his signature ‘Billy Club’ in battle.
Unlike the Avengers, Daredevil is a street-level hero who typically faces organized crime rather than cosmic supervillains.
Although Born Again continues the story from the original Netflix series, the new title hints a clear narrative shift.
In the first episode of “DareDevil: Born Again”, Matt Murdock’s two best friends and also colleagues, Karen Page and Foggy Nelson lost their importance in the series.
Foggy Nelson was killed by DareDevil’s enemy, BullsEye and Karen Page leaves Matt Murdock after their best friend’s death.
DareDevil violated his own value, no-kill code when he throwed BullsEye off the building.
Matt Murdock gave up his responsibility to protect New York as DareDevil and worked as a lawyer for a year.
He became co-leader of his lawyer company and he seemed to be familiar with an ordinary life.
However, his arch-enemy and the king of crime, Wilson Fisk also known as KingPin became a mayor of New York, he decided to return as DareDevil to protect New York once again.
Also his rival and also cooperator Frank Castle, the Punisher appeared in “DareDevil: Born Again” too.
DareDevil and Punisher both fight against criminals, but their values and attitudes are very different from each other.
Daredevil, for example, has a strict moral code against killing, even though BullsEye killed Foggy Nelson.
After realizing he needed BullsEye to fight against KingPin, Daredevil decided to cooperate with him.
On the other hand, Punisher is a character who kills every criminal he encounters.
Frank Castle lost his whole family to criminals without any reason and was born again as the Punisher who punished all the sinners.
Their different characteristics are also shown with their iconic weapons.
Besides DareDevil’s iconic weapon, the Billi Club, which can hit enemies to subdue, Punisher’s main weapon is a gun which is able to instantly kill several enemies.
However, they are a powerful combination when they have the same target.
Watching their chemistry and conflicts is one of the key points of “DareDevil: Born Again”.
In the final part of “DareDevil: Born Again”, Punisher is caught by KingPin’s men but he escapes.
In the next Marvel Cinematic Universe’s movie, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” trailer, Frank Castle appeared, attacking Spider-Man.
The fans speculated that the ending of “DareDevil: Born Again” will directly continue with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” but Marvel teased a new short episode of Punisher.
“Punisher: One Last Kill” will show Frank Castle’s next move after he escaped from KingPin’s prison and is directly linked with “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.”
