Amazon Prime Video has officially unveiled the first poster and trailer for Spider-Noir, a live-action drama based on Marvel’s animated character Spider-Man Noir.

Highly anticipated by fans of superheroes and dark storytelling, the series is scheduled to be released globally on Prime Video on May 27, 2026.

It will premiere first on MGM+ channels in the United States, marking another bold step in expanding Marvel’s more mature and differentiated universe.

A unique atmosphere inspired by classic noir films is expected.

Co-produced by Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot, the series has garnered significant attention for reuniting members of the Academy Award-winning team behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Producers Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal aim to make Spider-Noir a distinctive Spider-Man story that takes the character in a bold new direction.

Set in 1930s New York, the series follows a retired detective named Ben Reilly struggling to survive in a city plagued by corruption and violence.

Forced to confront the shadows of his past, he reflects on what his legacy as the city’s only superhero truly means and strives to rediscover his identity and purpose in a world where the line between justice and revenge is blurred.

As threatening figures emerge throughout criminal investigations and personal struggles, Spider-Noir unfolds as a narrative centered on downfall, guilt, and redemption.

Departing from the traditional bright reds associated with Spider-Man, the series presents a deeply introspective story shaped by a neo-noir aesthetic.

The series also distinguishes itself through its bold artistic choices.

Spider-Noir will be available in both black-and-white and color versions, allowing viewers to choose the visual experience that best suits them.

These dual formats not only showcase the show’s stylistic ambition but also serve as a homage to classic noir conventions.

The series stars Oscar winner Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly.

The production features an international ensemble cast, including Lamorne Morris,Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, Abraham Popula, Jack Huston, and Brendan Gleeson.

Guest appearances by Lucas Hayes, Cameron Britton, Amanda Schull, and Andrew Robinson further enhance the world of the series.

The first two episodes were directed by Harry Bradbeer, an Emmy winner known for his work on Fleabag and Killing Eve.

His direction is characterized by a strong visual style, emphasizing contrast and shadow to create psychological tension and seamlessly reflecting the characters’ inner worlds.

With Spider-Noir, Prime Video continues to expand its ambitious genre lineup, presenting works that blend superhero mythology with crime drama.

The series appeals not only to Marvel fans but also to audiences who enjoy dark crime stories, offering a classic noir atmosphere that sets it apart from conventional superhero blockbusters.

With its retro sensibilities and a darker tone, Spider-Noir presents a unique interpretation of the Spider-Man mythos, exploring themes of violence, downfall, and identity in a world where the traces of heroism have faded.

Also featured in the trailer, the famous villains in the Spider-Man comics appeared.

Mr. Negative, Sand-Man, Electro and Molten-Man will appear in the series with new appearances that fit the 1930’s background.

As the trailer teases several villains, Spider-Man comic fans anticipate a 1930s Sinister-Six assembly, the villain alliance to eliminate Spider-Man.
