Samsung Electronics hosted the "Galaxy Unpacked 2025" event at SAP Center in San Jose on January 22nd (local time), unveiling its groundbreaking AI smartphone, the "Galaxy S25 Series."
Samsung Electronics President Roh Tae-moon declared, "The Galaxy S25 is a true AI companion," adding, "We will innovate users' daily lives with the easiest and most intuitive AI experience ever."
The Galaxy S25 series features One UI 7, a newly integrated AI platform.
The platform leverages multimodal AI technology to analyze text, voice, and image data and provides customized services.
Key features include Now Brief, which analyzes the user’s sleep data, weather, and schedule and gives real-time information.
Voice command capabilities have also been enhanced significantly.
With the new AI button, users can seamlessly link tasks between various apps and perform complex commands like “Send me related documents after adding a meeting schedule next week.”
The new Galaxy S series is equipped with the Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy developed by Samsung Electronics and Qualcomm.
The 'Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy,' which boasts the strongest performance ever among Galaxy-only chipsets, has improved NPU by 40% and CPU and GPU performance by 37% and 30%, respectively, compared to its predecessor, 'Snapdragon 8 Gen 8 for Galaxy.'
The "Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy" is designed to maximize display quality and efficiency. Based on AI-based image processing algorithms designed on chipsets, the "ProScaler" function that clearly expresses various contents has improved image quality by more than 40 percent for the first time.
Additionally, Samsung Electronics' mobile digital natural image (mDNIe) provides a solution for improving image quality, and has been installed inside to improve image quality and clarity and power efficiency.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra model features a new 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.
Therefore, it enables users to capture high-definition photos with a wide angle of view and provide excellent image quality even in low-light circumstances.
Also, the new “Audio Eraser” function allows users to remove unnecessary background noise or adjust the volume when taking video.
In line with sustainability efforts, the Galaxy S25 series uses batteries containing over 50 percent recycled cobalt.
By recycling cobalt extracted from the collected Galaxy smartphone batteries, Samsung Electronics is establishing a “battery recycle cycle system” and contributing to a sustainable future.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 series will support 7 OS upgrades and security updates over the next 7 years.
The extended product life cycle ensures that users can enjoy and use the best experience for a longer time.
For the first time, the Galaxy S25 series introduces a Personal Data Engine that analyzes the personalized data of users.
All data processed through the PDE is stored securely on devices strongly protected by Knox Vault.
Users of the Galaxy S25 series can enjoy a personalized, precise mobile AI experience with confidence in Samsung Electronics through security.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be available in four colors: 'Titanium Silver Blue,' 'Titanium Black,' 'Titanium White Silver,' and 'Titanium Gray,' and the Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 will come in four colors: 'Silver Shadow,' 'Navy,' 'Ice Blue,' and 'Mint.'.
Samsung Electronics will release its Galaxy S25 series globally starting on February 7th.
In South Korea, the pre-sale of the Galaxy S25 series will run for 11 days, from January 24th to February 3rd.
