Brazil defeats Japan in thrilling World Cup match

Brazil overcame an early setback to defeat Japan 2–1 in a FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match at Houston Stadium, securing their place in the Round of 16 after a dramatic late winner from Gabriel Martinelli. Japan shocked Brazil in the first half by taking a 1-0 lead.
In the 29th minute, Kaishu Sano scored, giving Japan the lead and a confidence boost against one of the strongest sides in the tournament.
The goal energized Japan, which continued to defend with discipline and look for chances on quick counterattacks.
Brazil had more possession during the first half, but Japan’s defensive shape made it difficult for the Brazilian attackers to create clear scoring chances.

Following the equalizer, the game became more open.
Japan remained dangerous on quick breaks, leveraging speed and direct play to challenge Brazil’s defense.
Brazil, on the other hand, relied on technical skill and build-up play to search for a winning goal.
Japan’s goalkeeper Zion Suzuki made several crucial saves to keep the game tied, while Japan’s defenders worked to block shots and protect their penalty area.
Brazil also had to remain vigilant defensively as Japan continued to pose a threat with their quick attacks.
As the game entered its final stages, Brazil found the decisive moment.
In the 95th minute, Gabriel Martinelli scored the winning goal after a pass from Bruno Guimarães, giving Brazil a 2–1 lead.
The late strike completed Brazil's comeback and secured their spot in the Round of 16.
Japan pushed forward in the closing minutes, desperate to find an equalizer, but Brazil stayed organized defensively and cleared several late chances.
Despite Japan’s pressure, the team could not score again before the final whistle.
At the match, Brazil celebrated a hard-earned comeback victory.
