A car ramming attack took place at the Christmas market in Germany on December 20th, 2024 resulting in people being injured and losing lives, bringing shock and horror to the German city.
The attack claimed the lives of five people and left more than two hundreds of people reported injured; some patients are revealed to be unconscious, bringing great concern to people.
The local people are putting up flowers and candles to show respect to the ones who have been innocently sacrificed.
Taleb Al Abdulmohsen has been identified as the suspect of this crime and was arrested at the scene of the deadly attack in Magdeburg on Friday.
According to the German authorities, they expect there to be no other people involved in making a crash, and the authorities are finding out about thes motive of his actions.
Past records show that, Taleb arrived to Germany in 2006 after escaping from Islam and is known to have made anti-Islam statements where he shared advices to other people about how to escape repressive regimes in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.
He also appeared on media outlets such as CNN and BBC advocating for countries like Germany to welcome more immigrants for people to escape any threats and persecutions.
He was mostly contacted by women facing extreme threats; he helps them to travel to visa-free countries and he also facilitates the contact between women and the media such as CNN and BBC.
However, he grew dissatisfied with Germany’s immigration policy where it started to tighten the border controls when it used to receive more than a million refugees from the Middle East.
On his social media, he claimed how Germany has been promoting the Islamization of the country and blamed its policies for the sufferings Islam people are going through.
He was particularly unhappy with Atheist Refugee Relief, a German NGO that was responsible for assisting women to escape Saudi Arabia and other oppressive regimes.
He accused the NGO for disrupting his efforts and assisting women to escape Saudi Arabia.
In addition, there have been instances where he made threats against Germany and the Germans that “German terrorism will be brought to justice. It’s very likely that I will die this year in order to bring justice”.
He also later claimed,: “I assure you that if Germany wants a war, we will fight it. If Germany wants us to kill us, we will slaughter them, die, or go to prison with pride.’
This kind of attack has triggered memories of the traumatic incident in 2016 in Germany when people were mowed down and killed at the Berlin Christmas market.
In 2016, there was Tunisian man who was 24 years old and his failure to receive asylum in Germany led him to form an allegiance with the radical jihadists of ISIS.
He used a truck to crash people in the Christmas market; this led to huge anger and suspicion from Germany against Muslim immigrants from the Middle East.
Terrorism involving Muslim immigrants continues to evoke deep fear and rage among the German citizens.
There have also been concerns about the safety risks of publicizing the case of people who are anti-Islams as this can greatly risk their safety.
