In recent years, climate change has exponentially worsened.

Climate change is a global issue that has affected the world for many years.

This is mostly due to the greenhouse effect, where greenhouse gas emissions make a protective layer around Earth that traps heat inside the earth’s atmosphere, warming it up.

Climate change can lead to devastating effects such as more intense natural disasters, hotter temperatures, more numerous and intense droughts, etc.

And all of this is caused by the subject that surrounds us every day: humans.

Humans, because of increased economic production and reliance on fossil fuels, release almost ten times as much carbon dioxide as they had during the 1900s.

This has led to immense negative effects on the world’s climate.

One recent event includes something not many expected: the canals in Venice ran dry.

Venice, a city located in the northeast direction of Italy, is known around the world for its canals.

This event can be pinpointed to climate change.

Because of the intense dry seasons that have affected Italy and the rest of the world, the waters entering the canals of Venice have dried up.

This is not just affecting Venice, climate change has been affecting countries across the world .

The United States is suffering from climate change’s effect on natural disasters, specifically, hurricanes.

Due to climate change, hurricanes are becoming more frequent in the United States.

Not only are they appearing more occasionally, but they are becoming even more violent as well.

These hurricanes are more frequent in places in the US that are closer to shores or nearby the Atlantic coasts.

There are many reasons to explain this.

However, the main reason is because of the rise of ocean levels and temperatures.

Oceans levels are currently rising at a rapid rate.

One of the reasons is because glaciers are melting.

Because of the increase of temperatures, glaciers are now prone to melting at a faster rate than it had before, causing more water to be added to the oceans.

Climate change is also responsible for the excessive amounts of rainwater citizens have been seeing.

In recent days, the amount of rainfall has increased a considerable amount.

For example, on February 21, Sao Paulo suffered from a flood, in which numerous citizens were hurt.

Landslides were also worsened from the rain, causing even more deaths.

Europe, as a whole, has had a significantly shorter winter season during the years of 2022 and 2023.

Countries such as France and Germany have had record-breaking temperatures.

For example, Liechtenstein, according to CNN, “recorded a peak of 20 degrees Celsius (68 fahrenheit). This is usually high temperatures during the winter season.

Landfill Solutions, a website dedicated to converting waste to energy, believes that by 2023, greenhouse gas levels are likely to increase to record levels.

This may not only cause devastation of cities and countries worldwide, but also have a negative effect on the economy due to the continued instability of the weather and the damages caused by natural disasters.
