On July 6th, 2023, the 2lst International Nanotech Symposium & Exhibition was held in Ilsan KINTEX.

This year, over 390 companies from 8 countries across the world participated in this mass-scale event.

The main topic of this event was “Nano Device: Evolution to Intellectual Semiconductor,” followed by subtopics such as Nanomaterials, Nanomanufacturing, and Nanoenergy, along with 10 other topics.

Also, many nationally crucial tech companies including Samsung and LG participated in special exhibitions.

For example, Samsung presented the “under-5 nano material,”which can resist heat and still contain much more memory than its previous model, “10 nano material.”

Another example  was LG’s NanoCellulose. It copies the cellulose cell walls of a tree and uses it for creating “shape-remembering fiber.”

Furthermore, the Symposium awarded prizes with rewards to companies that invented new technologies.

Lee Jun Hee, representative of COXEM, was awarded ‘The Prime Minister Award’, which is an award presented to the best invention, for their highway in the creation and development of electron scanning injectors.

The International Nanotech Symposium & Exhibition is known as a field for co-development for Nano-researchers and Nano-tech companies.

It is also a way for active development of the rising Nano technology, which is used in many parts of our daily life.

Nano tech in our daily lives can be divided largely into 7 parts, according to the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning.

Those are Medical & Health, Biotechnology, Information Communication, Machines & Robots, Space Airline,  Environment & Energy,  Nation Security.

An example is, as everyone knows, masks. Especially these days, due to COVID-19, the need for better, safer masks is being emphasized.

And as a response to this growing spotlight KAIST successfully invented the “Reusable Mask” which was made by spinning nanofibers at an extreme speed, to spray them by 3 layers onto a surface.

Nanotech is also playing a crucial role in creating vehicles, especially making the plates for rockets.

Due  to their extreme tangleness, most materials including water and heat can’t be delivered to the rocket’s machinery.

And yet, the environment. The environment can be helped in many many ways with Nanotech.

The main way is bio-degradable fiber, and plastics. According to Professor Lee Chang Ha, nanomaterials can be easily degraded and broken into the size of nano, which has almost no effect on whatever eats it.

Furthermore, important machines such as semiconductors, environment savers like micro-dust removers, and strong matters like Carbon Nano-reinforced fibers, Nanotech can be found everywhere.

Like this, nanotech is used in everyday lives, and continues to develop along with other technology. And since nanotech is the center of most 4 & 5 industrial revolution technologies, there will be no worry for the demolition of nanotech.
