On the 18th of June, Titan was reported lost near Canada and the US.

Titan is a submarine OceanGate provided to tour underwater to see the Titanic, a ship destroyed in 1912.

OceanGate advertised that whoever goes on Titan would get the experience of going 4000 m below sea level for 8 hours.

The submarine was small, with a small carpet space for five people to lie down or sit.

Five people boarded the Titan, and they were Hamish Harding, Shahzada Dawood, Suleman Dawood, Stockton Rush, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet.

After around an hour and 45 minutes, the ship dived in, their signal was lost, and no one could track where the submarine was.

The Titan was believed to be around 3500 m below sea level when contact was lost.

It was predicted that only around 40 hours of oxygen was left available, which caused the search and rescue teams to find the submarine rushed, as time was limited.

As reported, there wasn't any way for passengers inside to open the submarine, as it was designed only to be opened from outside to prevent water from coming in.

There were many different assumptions and ideas of what happened to the submarine, such as that it was eaten by a shark, an explosion, or that it drifted away due to the rifts.

The search continued for a long time, but they never found the submarine, as for June 25th.

The US authorities announced that there were small particles that looked like debris from the submarine and soon added that it would have probably been an explosion.

The officials eventually had to conclude that the five passengers had sadly passed away.

The debris was found 488 m away from the front of the Titanic.

It isn’t completely evidenced that it has been an explosion, but for now, it is shown to be the most realistic reason.

When the submarine was underwater, it was predicted that the weight of water was equivalent to the weight of the Eiffel Tower, and this comparison shows how much water pressure there was.

This wasn’t the first time accidents like this happened related to the submarine created by OceanGate.

There was a relay of events, an example being that a submarine from the same company got lost for 5 hours due to GPS not working properly.

Adding on, the contract for passengers to sign mentions the word ‘death’ multiple times, showing just how dangerous and life-threatening this expedition was.

The previous passengers also added that they could relate to how dangerous and life threatening it was and how they also had experiences of low safety.

The next step for experts is to find the exact reason, with more evidence, to build a more decisive conclusion about what happened to the submarine.

Currently, it’s just an assumption by matching evidence found so far.

The authorities said they will continue the search for the submarine, Titan.
