In the months following his inauguration, President Trump has begun implementing strict immigration policies that mark a dramatic shift from previous administrations.

These changes come after a long history of unauthorized immigration to the United States.

President Trump promised during his campaign to deport all illegal immigrants out of the United States and to secure the American borders, he also ensured protection to all U.S. citizens.

This was a central theme in his election platform, where he emphasized what he called “America First” policies to protect American jobs and national security.

Shortly after President Trump was elected, he signed several executive orders related to immigration.

These executive orders outlined his administration’s plans to handle immigration totally differently from previous presidents.

They authorized the government to have the military patrol the U.S. southern borders and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers to conduct mass deportations.

People were surprised by this act and debated whether it should be stopped or not.

This indicates a massive change in how immigration enforcement is carried out, compared to previous administrations and presidents.

The United States has been a very welcoming country for immigrants, accepting the highest number of immigrants compared to other countries in the world, with 14.3% of its population being immigrants from other countries.

However, approximately 11 million unauthorized immigrants currently live in the United States.

Many unauthorized immigrants come from Mexico, with others from El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, India, and several other countries.

Immigration remains one of the most controversial topics in the United States.

Public opinion on Trump’s immigration policy is very mixed across the country.

It was reported that about 59% of the US population believe and trust President Trump's decisions will improve the immigration situation.

The government is also considering policy changes regarding birthright citizenship and refugee admissions.

These potential changes have created fear among many families, including legal immigrants concerned about possible deportation.

Immigration plays a crucial role in the U.S. economy, job growth, and cultural diversity.

However, some argue that immigration should be viewed as a privilege rather than an advantage.

Citizens hold diverse perspectives about immigration for various reasons.

President Trump’s policies represent a major shift in the country’s approach to immigration enforcement.

His administration argues these measures are necessary to uphold American laws and protect citizens.

Critics worry about the humanitarian impacts on immigrant families who have built lives in the United States.

The debate about immigration keeps changing as President Trump puts his new policies into action.

Reactions vary widely across the population.

Some support stricter rules, and many communities have established  sanctuary policies to help protect immigrant residents.

As the United States deals with these big changes, people wonder how new immigration policies will affect the economy, relationships with other countries, and what it means to be American.
